Riaad Moosa is one of the biggest names in local comedy and he unleashes his special brand of comedy at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatreon 12 and 13 October 2018. If you have ever wondered if life really begins at 40, go and listen to this infamous funnyman take on this topic in his hysterical, authentic one-man stand-up show Life Begins.
Being a father of four, a husband, comedian and actor, topped by taking in constant political and cultural changes all around you, all the while being 40, cannot be an easy task. Unless, of course, you do so gracefully by seeing the lighter side and laughing about life – as Moosa obviously does.
In this show, Moosa cures all the 40’s blues with a good dose of hysterical laughter. He describes the show as philosophical and existential and says it involves all the normal issues of aging. Following sell-out shows around the country, Riaad and his audience will, once again, try to figure out whether life really does begin at 40.
“Even though I am now 40, in many ways, I feel like I’m still crawling and I’m looking back at my journey from being an aspirational doctor, coming from a relatively conservative Muslim background, where both my parents were doctors, and how I actually journeyed to becoming a stand-up comedian,” says Riaad.
Moosa is actually a qualified medical doctor as well but he has never practiced as a doctor because acting and comedy simply stole his heart. Once he hit the comedy circuit, he quickly earned the title “Comedy Doctor”.
“Riaad Moosa is always warmly welcomed to Sibaya. With his charismatic style and wicked sense of humour, his audiences always leave with big smiles on their faces,” says Janet Pillay, PR and Promotions Manager at Sibaya.
Tickets to the show cost R200 per person and are available from Computicket. The show, which is rated PG for language starts at 20h00.
